President Sadyr Japarov reported in his social media post that 71 delegates of the People's Kurultai were insincere when discussing their participation in the elections for deputies of the Jogorku Kenesh.
During the second day of the Fourth People's Kurultai, which took place on December 26, the president answered questions from participants. One of the delegates asked a question regarding the elections.
Discussing the elections for deputies of the Jogorku Kenesh, Japarov expressed regret over the low voter turnout.
He also asked the delegates to raise their hands if they had actually voted in the recent elections.
All delegates, without exception, raised their hands, which was recorded live. The president had previously warned that a video recording was in progress.
I was saddened that some delegates representing their regions lied without hesitation. The Central Election Commission confirmed that 71 delegates of the Fourth People's Kurultai did not participate in the voting.
The head of state noted that he would not name the delegates to avoid putting them in an awkward position, adding that they already know the truth.
It should be reminded that earlier at the kurultai, the president emphasized the low voter turnout in the elections for the Jogorku Kenesh and suggested that delegates raise their hands if they had actually voted. All participants demonstrated that they supposedly took part in the voting. After that, the president ordered the apparatus to verify the information through the CEC database to find out if all 700 participants of the kurultai had indeed voted.
