“On the second day of the People's Kurultai, I was answering questions from the delegates. One of them asked a question about the elections. I expressed regret about the low voter turnout. Then I asked those present who among the delegates participated in the last parliamentary elections to raise their hands,” noted Japarov.
All delegates without exception raised their hands.
“This was shown live. I warned in advance that video recording was taking place. I was surprised and upset that some delegates lied without hesitation. It should be remembered that they were elected by the residents of the regions they represent. The Central Election Commission confirmed that 71 delegates of the Kurultai did not participate in the elections. I do not intend to put them in an awkward position by naming names.
