The Chinese embassy in Turkmenistan has announced an expansion of opportunities for compatriots, allowing all applicants for short-term visas with a duration of up to 180 days to do so without providing biometric data.

However, for those planning to obtain visas of categories D, J1, Q1, S1, X1, and Z, the requirement to provide fingerprints will remain in effect, as these visas imply the possibility of obtaining a residence permit after entering the country.

In addition, the Chinese authorities have extended the program for temporarily reducing visa fees for citizens of Turkmenistan until the end of 2026. According to Business Turkmenistan, the fees are: $4 for a single-entry visa, $56 for a double-entry visa, $206 for a multiple-entry visa valid for six months, and $386 for an annual multiple-entry visa.
