Since December 30, the methane filling stations in Uzbekistan have resumed 24-hour operations. This decision was announced by the Ministry of Energy of the republic through its Telegram channel.

In the agency's message, it is noted that thanks to the new schedule, car owners will be able to refuel at any time of the day or night, without waiting in line.

It is worth noting that on December 11 of this year, the authorities of Uzbekistan imposed temporary restrictions on the operation of methane filling stations. This decision was made due to a decrease in natural gas imports caused by technical malfunctions in the pipeline in a neighboring country, likely Turkmenistan, which actively supplies "blue fuel" abroad. As a result, the filling stations operated only a few hours a day for more than two weeks.

According to the National Statistics Committee, from January to November 2025, Uzbekistan imported natural gas worth $1.45 billion. The main suppliers are Turkmenistan and Russia. In November of this year, a record was set for imports, exceeding $334 million. However, analysts note that compared to the same period last year, supplies of "blue fuel" from these countries decreased by 1.2%.

Restrictions on the operation of methane filling stations in Uzbekistan were also observed last year. For instance, on February 17, 2024, the operation of all auto gas filling compressor stations (AGFCS) was suspended due to accidents on the high-voltage power lines "L-Gazli-1" and "L-Gazli-2" in the Bukhara region. This led to the failure of eight gas pumping units, which reduced the volume and pressure of gas in the main pipelines. The restrictions were completely lifted only on March 7.
