The employees of the Bishkek City Police Department are starting to conduct activities as part of the operation "Illegal," aimed at explaining to foreign citizens the rules regarding migration legislation.
The Bishkek City Police Department informs that foreigners are required to always carry original identity documents that confirm the legality of their stay in the country. This includes a passport (or another identity document), a valid visa for work or study (under visa regulations), and a migration registration document.
If a foreign citizen does not have the specified documents, they may be taken to law enforcement authorities to establish their identity and clarify the reasons for their stay in the country. During recent raids, more than 35 foreign citizens were detained for verification and further decisions in accordance with the law.
Furthermore, the Bishkek City Police Department emphasizes that employers, inviting individuals, and educational institutions do not have the right to confiscate or keep the passports and other personal documents of foreign citizens.
In conclusion, the Police Department urges both foreign citizens and hosting parties to strictly comply with the requirements of the migration legislation of the Kyrgyz Republic.
