The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic has announced the entry into force of the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of the KR No. 855 dated December 31, 2025, which modifies the rules for the stay of foreign citizens in the country. This was reported by the press service of the MFA of the KR.
The purpose of this document is to improve migration processes, enhance the transparency of conditions for foreigners, and adapt legislation to the main directions of state migration policy.
Now citizens of 55 countries can stay in Kyrgyzstan without visas and permits for up to 30 calendar days within each 60-day period from the date of entry.
The list of countries whose citizens can benefit from the visa-free regime includes:
Australia, Republic of Austria, Kingdom of Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Vatican City, United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, Hungary, Federal Republic of Germany, Kingdom of the Netherlands, Hellenic Republic, Kingdom of Denmark, Iceland, Ireland, Kingdom of Spain, Italian Republic, Canada, Republic of Korea, Republic of Latvia, Republic of Lithuania, Principality of Liechtenstein, Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, Republic of Malta, Principality of Monaco, New Zealand, Kingdom of Norway, Republic of Poland, Portuguese Republic, Republic of Singapore, Slovak Republic, Republic of Slovenia, United States of America, Republic of Finland, French Republic, Republic of Croatia, Czech Republic, Swiss Confederation, Kingdom of Sweden, Republic of Estonia, Brunei Darussalam, Japan, Montenegro, Principality of Andorra, Argentine Republic, Federative Republic of Brazil, Republic of San Marino, Republic of Chile, Republic of Albania, Republic of Bulgaria, Socialist Republic of Vietnam, State of Israel, Republic of Cyprus, Republic of North Macedonia, Republic of Romania, Kingdom of Thailand, United Mexican States.
After 30 days, foreigners must either leave Kyrgyzstan or obtain the necessary permits, such as a visa, residence permit, or temporary stay permit in accordance with local legislation.
It is important to note that the new changes do not affect international agreements and do not apply to those entering the country for work, educational, or other activities that require special permits.
The MFA of the KR strongly recommends that foreign citizens and hosting parties take these changes into account and strictly adhere to migration legislation.
