According to data published on Tuesday by the Mongolian Tourism Organization, the number of tourists visiting the country in 2025 increased by 5% compared to the same period last year.

According to statistics, over 851,000 visits by foreign tourists with foreign passports were registered in Mongolia throughout 2025.

The Ministry of Culture, Sports, Tourism, and Youth announced that the Government of Mongolia will extend the tourism program "Years to Visit Mongolia" until 2028 to promote the development of year-round tourism.

There are 18 foreign airlines operating flights to Mongolia. Currently, the main destinations are the Republic of Korea, Russia (4 companies), and China (3 companies). This summer, airlines from Turkey and Thailand plan to operate 10,116 flights to 22 destinations.

The economy of Mongolia remains largely based on the export of mineral resources. The development of the tourism sector is seen as one of the key factors for diversifying the economy and enhancing competitiveness in the global context.
