According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic, starting from January 21, 2026, a mandatory financial deposit will be introduced for citizens of the country applying for non-immigrant B-1/B-2 visas (for tourism and business trips).

According to the U.S. Department of State, the deposit amount will range from $5,000 to $15,000 and will be determined by the consular officer during the interview.

Application process: Following the consul's instructions, applicants must submit Form I-352 from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and confirm their agreement to the deposit terms through the Pay.gov platform.

Key aspects:

The deposit does not guarantee the issuance of a visa.

The deposit amount is non-refundable in case of violation of the duration of stay in the U.S. or change of immigration status.

These changes apply only to applications submitted after the new rules come into effect.

Entry and exit restrictions: Citizens who receive a visa with a deposit condition must cross the U.S. border only through the following airports:

Logan International Airport, Boston (BOS);

John F. Kennedy International Airport, New York (JFK);

Dulles International Airport, Washington (IAD).

Failure to comply with these requirements may result in denial of entry or visa cancellation.

As reported by the American side, the inclusion of Kyrgyzstan in this list is a result of a high level of visa regime violations by citizens of the republic. In this regard, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic strongly recommends that citizens familiarize themselves with the new requirements in advance and strictly adhere to U.S. immigration laws to avoid negative consequences.
