The Deputy Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan, Edil Baisalov, expressed the opinion that the country should take steps in response to the introduction of a visa bond by the United States.

According to him, the visa regime for U.S. citizens needs to be reconsidered.

In his message on the social network X, Baisalov noted: "I believe it is necessary to initiate a review of the visa-free regime for U.S. citizens after the State Department announced new requirements, according to which Kyrgyz citizens must pay a visa bond of up to $15,000. The issue of visa policy concerns parity and mutual respect. If such high barriers are established for our citizens, we cannot ignore what is happening."

It should be noted that starting from January 21, 2026, citizens of several countries, including the Kyrgyz Republic, will be required to pay a financial bond ranging from $5,000 to $15,000 when applying for tourist and business visas of category B1/B2.
