The real estate was registered in the names of trusted individuals
Employees of the State Committee for National Security (GKNB) detained S.M.A., the owner of a network of pawnshops in Bishkek, as reported by the agency's press service.
According to information received from the committee, the businessman exploited the difficult situation of citizens to illegally profit by offering loans at high interest rates that clients could not repay on time.
Considering the vulnerable position of his clients, S.M.A. developed schemes to seize both movable and immovable property, including residential premises, land plots, and commercial properties. He used controlled notaries and other affiliated individuals to register the property in the names of those he trusted. When necessary, the suspect employed intimidation and pressure tactics against citizens.
Based on the evidence collected in the criminal case, S.M.A. was arrested and placed in the GKNB detention center. The investigation is ongoing.
