Employees of the State Committee for National Security (SCNS) detained an investigator from the Internal Affairs Department of the Jayyl District in the Chuy Region, who was caught taking a bribe of 150,000 soms. This money was to be received by the investigator for terminating a criminal case.
The operation during which the law enforcement officer was detained was conducted jointly with the Internal Security Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. This action is part of broader measures to combat corruption in state and law enforcement structures in the region.
According to the agency, the facts of extortion were revealed as a result of operational investigative activities. The detention occurred on January 13, 2026, when police captain Zh.A.Z., working in the investigative service of the Internal Affairs Department of the Jayyl District, was caught with the specified amount. A pre-trial investigation has been initiated, registered in the automated information system ERP, on the grounds of a crime provided for by Article 343 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.
At the moment, the detainee has been placed in the temporary detention facility of the SCNS.
The SCNS continues to conduct additional operational investigative actions to identify other possible participants in this crime.
