As a result of heavy snowfall, temporary changes to flight schedules have been implemented at Moscow airports — "Sheremetyevo," "Domodedovo," "Vnukovo," and "Zhukovsky." The Ministry of Transport of Russia reported on the situation.

According to the agency's information, as of now, 603 flights have been carried out for arrivals and departures, of which 214 were at "Sheremetyevo." However, this airport did not accept flights from 04:10 to 11:00 Moscow time, while departures continued. Restrictions were introduced by the order of the Ministry of Transport and Rosaviatsiya, as time was needed for snow removal and the restoration of normal baggage handling operations.

The ministry noted that over the course of a day, more than 1 million cubic meters of snow were removed from the airfields, which is equivalent to the load of about 100,000 KamAZ dump trucks. "Sheremetyevo" reported that baggage delivery has been fully completed, and there is no crowding of passengers in the baggage claim area. For some passengers, home delivery of baggage was organized.

After 15:00 Moscow time, Moscow airports resumed accepting and dispatching flights, and airlines are operating according to the updated schedule.
