During the discussion, special attention was paid to issues of energy supply for the upcoming autumn-winter months, where data from the Ministry of Energy was presented. According to the information, in 2025, electricity consumption in the country reached 19.3 billion kWh, which is 900 million kWh more than in 2024. Of this volume, 15.4 billion kWh was produced in the country, and 3.9 billion kWh was imported.
The situation with water resources in Kyrgyzstan, as in other Central Asian countries, raises concerns, as there is a decrease in water inflow. In particular, the volume of water in the Toktogul reservoir currently stands at 9.102 billion m³, which is 1.631 billion m³ less than in the same period in 2025.
Experts warn that water shortages may negatively affect electricity production. In this regard, the necessity of adhering to established limits on electricity consumption was emphasized, although in practice this is not always followed.
As for coal reserves, it is necessary to stockpile 3,174,792 tons of coal for the normal passage of the heating season in the country, and there are sufficient reserves available. The heat and power plants in Bishkek and Osh are also supplied with the necessary amount of coal and fuel oil.
The meeting was attended by representatives from various ministries, including the Ministry of Labor, Social Protection and Migration, the Ministry of Health, and the Ministry of Education, who reported on the current situation regarding the heating season and the absence of serious problems.
Bakyt Torobaev emphasized the need for active work by state and municipal institutions during the heating season, especially in providing the population and socially significant facilities with energy resources. He also called for readiness for potential changes in weather conditions in the near future.
