In Kyrgyzstan, almost half of the officially registered unemployed are women

According to data from the National Statistical Committee, last year women accounted for 46.3% of the total number of officially registered unemployed in Kyrgyzstan. The registered unemployment rate compared to the working-age population reached 1.4%.

The Ministry of Labor, Social Security, and Migration reports that in 2025, 58.6 thousand citizens turned to employment services, of which 39.8 thousand were officially registered as unemployed.
The highest number of unemployed was recorded in the Osh region — 10,523 people, and in the Jalal-Abad region — 10,376 people.
In the Batken region, there are 5,795 unemployed registered, in the Talas region — 2,319, in the Issyk-Kul region — 1,842, in the Chui region — 1,343, and in the Naryn region — 1,307.

In the capital, Bishkek, and in Osh, 3,144 and 3,192 unemployed are officially registered, respectively.
The unemployment rate in the country has decreased by 26% compared to 2024.
In 2024, Kyrgyzstan recorded 91.6 thousand unemployed, of which 64.6 thousand were officially registered.

Additionally, it is noted that the number of unemployed is also increasing due to citizens returning home due to the tightening of labor migration conditions in Russia.
