In the winter transfer window, the 33-year-old player, who has experience playing for clubs such as "Rubin" (Russia), "Lokomotiv" (Russia), "Metalist" (Ukraine), "Neftchi" (Azerbaijan), and "Al-Uhdud" (Saudi Arabia), signed a contract with the newcomer of the Jyrgoky League, "Toktogul".
On March 6, "Toktogul" began its performances in the top division, facing the Bishkek team "Ilbirs" at their stadium.
Already in the 14th minute, Kazakh player Alisher Rakhimzhanov swiftly entered the penalty area of "Toktogul", and Kvirkvelia brought him down. Referee Nurgazy Cholponbaev, without resorting to VAR, immediately awarded a penalty.
Illya Karpuk from Russia confidently converted the penalty, opening the scoring in the match — 1:0.
After the break, Kvirkvelia began his rehabilitation. In the 49th minute, he scored his first goal in the top division, becoming the first goalscorer in the history of "Toktogul". The defender headed the ball in after a corner, bypassing Karpuk — 1:1.
