The football club "Toktogul," a newly minted participant in the Kyrgyzstan Premier League, held a presentation of its new players on January 14 in Bishkek.
Joining the team is 33-year-old defender Solomon Kvirkvelia from Georgia, as well as forward Eldar Moldojunusov from Kyrgyzstan.
Kvirkvelia has significant experience playing for various clubs. His career includes Kazan's "Rubin" (87 matches), Moscow's "Lokomotiv" (80 matches), Ukraine's "Metalist" (6 matches), Azerbaijan's "Neftchi" (33 matches), and Saudi Arabia's "Al-Uhdud" (33 matches). The last club he played for was the Georgian "Torpedo," where he made 18 appearances and scored 2 goals.
Solomon Kvirkvelia had the opportunity to play against stars such as Fernando Torres while at "Lokomotiv," as well as Cristiano Ronaldo and Roberto Firmino during the Saudi Arabian championship. He has also faced players like Gareth Bale, Marco Reus, and Thomas Müller in matches for the Georgian national team against Wales and Germany.
In 2024, Kvirkvelia represented the Georgian national team at the European Championship, where the team reached the Round of 16, achieving a sensational victory over Portugal with Cristiano Ronaldo in the group stage.
In the new season, Solomon Kvirkvelia will wear number 33, while Eldar Moldojunusov will wear number 10. The club hopes that the experience of the Georgian defender and the attacking potential of the Kyrgyz forward will help "Toktogul" successfully start in the Kyrgyzstan Premier League.
