In connection with the forecasted precipitation and changes in air temperature from February 5 to 9, Uzhydromet has warned of avalanche danger in the mountains of Uzbekistan.
The following areas are at risk:
Kashkadarya Region: Dehkanabad, Kitab, Kamashin, Shahrisabz districts;
Surkhandarya Region: Baysun, Kumkurgan, Sariasiy, Uzun districts;
Samarkand Region: Nurabad, Kushrabat, Samarkand, Urgut districts;
Jizzakh Region: Bakhmal and Zamin districts;
Tashkent Region: Bostanlyk, Parkent, Akhangaran districts (part of the Chatkal mountain system);
Namangan Region: Pap district.
Residents of mountainous areas, as well as tourists and drivers, are strongly urged to exercise caution.
Earlier, Uzhydromet informed that after several warm days, a cold and more humid air mass is expected to arrive on Friday, which will lead to precipitation (rain turning into snow) and a drop in temperature.
