According to the service, the latest data from seismologists indicates that the epicenter of this seismic event was located in the Pacific Ocean, near the Kamchatka region. Strong underground tremors were recorded using seismic stations.
Official sources from the geophysical service clarified that the magnitude is actually around 5.8–6.0, and the tremors occurred at a depth of approximately 40 km, located 235 km from Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky.
At the same time, no official warnings about a potential tsunami threat have been issued.
