As of the first half of 2025, the volume of these investments amounted to $6.8 billion, which is 30% less compared to 2016.

The structure of Indian foreign direct investments (FDI) in the region shows a significant predominance of raw material projects.

"Over the past ten years, 80% to 95% of all investments have been directed towards the oil and gas sector. At the same time, the volume of investments in raw material assets has decreased from $8.5 billion in 2016 to $6.5 billion at the beginning of 2025," analysts from the EDB comment.

According to available estimates, the share of Indian FDI in the Eurasian region continues to decline against the backdrop of active and diverse expansion of businesses from other Asian countries.
