In Kyrgyzstan, annual state monitoring of food products reveals batches of goods that do not meet safety and labeling requirements. This was reported by the head of the veterinary and sanitary safety department of the Veterinary Service under the Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry, Tilek Tabaldiev, in an interview on the radio.

Tabaldiev noted that among the most frequent violations are the presence of antibiotics, exceeding microbiological standards, and discrepancies between the actual composition of products and the information on the packaging. In particular, last year, about 160 samples of food products were recorded that did not meet established standards.

According to the head of the department, violations are observed in both imports and domestic products. For example, in the past, there were cases where residues of antibiotics were found in poultry meat. Additionally, sometimes the composition of products contains ingredients that are not listed on the packaging, including DNA from various types of meat.

When violations are detected in imported goods, the service sends information to the competent authorities of the manufacturing country for investigation and resolution of the identified issues. As for local producers, measures are carried out together with the veterinary and phytosanitary supervision service to correct and clarify the standards in order to prevent the recurrence of violations.
