According to the directive from the Ministry of Economy and Commerce of the Kyrgyz Republic dated January 30, 2026, No. 3, concerning the introduction of temporary state control over prices for meat (beef and lamb, excluding boneless), maximum prices have been established that must be adhered to within the country. The lowest price limits are set in the Ak-Talinsky district — 620 soms per kilogram of beef and 650 soms per kilogram of lamb. The highest meat prices are observed in Balykchy and the Chui region, where the price reaches 740 and 750 soms per kilogram, respectively.

In 2025, the rise in prices for meat products became one of the most discussed topics in Kyrgyzstan. To curb prices, the government imposed a temporary ban on meat exports, which expired at the end of December.
