In Kyrgyzstan, an agricultural census is scheduled to take place from March 20 to April 10, 2026. This decision was made by the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic at the end of 2022 to ensure a high level of quality and reliability of the data collected.

Deputy Chairman of the National Statistical Committee of the Kyrgyz Republic Zainidin Jumaliev and Chief Specialist of the Department of Statistical Censuses and Geoinformation Systems Baktybek Orozbaev shared information about the significance of this census on the air of Birinchi Radio.

According to them, the census, which covers the entire country, aims to gather complete and up-to-date information about the state and structure of agriculture. The main objectives of the event are to create a reliable statistical base for forming effective state policies and support programs for the agricultural sector. The data obtained during the census will become an important tool for ensuring food security and sustainable development of agriculture in Kyrgyzstan.

Zainidin Jumaliev noted that the agricultural census is conducted once every ten years, and the last one was held in 2003. Therefore, the upcoming census will provide an opportunity to collect current data on the state of the industry. After the procedure is completed, the results will be published on the website of the National Statistical Committee of the Kyrgyz Republic.

Baktybek Orozbaev added that commissions have been established at the republican and district levels in preparation for the census. “The census will be conducted in electronic format. The republican commission has approved four forms for data collection: rural areas, state farms, personal subsidiary and peasant farms, as well as summer cottages,” he reported.
