At a meeting of the Committee of the Jogorku Kenesh on Finance, Entrepreneurship, and Competition Development, Deputy Minister of Finance Nurbek Akjolov noted that this agreement involves the allocation of a sum of $1 billion 26 million 760 thousand. Of this amount, $32.7 million consists of grants, while $994 million are concessional loans.
The loan will be issued for 25 years, including a grace period of five years, at an interest rate of 1.5% per annum.
According to Akjolov, the funds will be directed towards the following goals:
- $450 million — support for the economy, particularly the private sector;
- $362.7 million — development of the energy sector, including the Kambarata HPP-1 project;
- $180.2 million — ensuring access to irrigation and clean drinking water;
- $61 million — development of digital technologies.
The Deputy Minister emphasized that the economy of Kyrgyzstan is demonstrating stable growth, which inspires confidence from international financial organizations. He also noted that as a result, the volume of grants is decreasing, and in the future, the terms of lending may be shortened.
