In January, Kyrgyzstan's GDP grew by 9%, reaching 125.7 billion soms

- According to preliminary data, the gross domestic product of Kyrgyzstan in January 2026 amounted to 125.7 billion soms, which is 9% more compared to January 2025. This information was reported on February 16 by the First Deputy Chairperson of the National Statistical Committee, Nazira Kerimalieva.

She noted that the GDP growth is attributed to an increase in production volumes in commodity sectors, the development of the service sector, as well as an increase in tax revenues from products.

The most significant share in the structure of gross domestic product came from services, accounting for 52.3% of the total volume. Industry accounted for 24.9%, agriculture for 4%, and construction for 1.8%.

The volume of industrial production in January 2026 reached 69.8 billion soms, which is 12.7% more compared to the same period last year. The increase in industrial indicators is associated with the growth in the production of wooden and paper products, printing products, rubber and plastic products, construction materials, chemicals, vehicles, refined petroleum products, as well as food and tobacco products, pharmaceutical products, and mineral extraction.

The gross agricultural output in January 2026 amounted to 14.6 billion soms, increasing by 3.5% compared to January of last year, thanks to the growth in livestock production.

Additionally, the gross output of construction in January amounted to 5.6 billion soms, which is 25.7% higher than the figures for January 2025.

Furthermore, the turnover of wholesale and retail trade in January 2026 reached 152.1 billion soms, increasing by 21% compared to the same period last year.
