In recent years, there has been active development of trade and economic partnership between Mongolia and Kyrgyzstan. This became known on February 19, 2026, thanks to the speech of Deputy Minister of Economy Choro Seitov at the plenary session of the Jogorku Kenesh.

He emphasized that exports from Kyrgyzstan significantly exceed imports, which is a sign of the country's strengthening position in the Mongolian market.
Choro Seitov also reported that both sides agreed to mutually reduce customs duties on 367 commodity items.
“Access to the Mongolian market will allow Kyrgyz agricultural producers to make duty-free supplies to Mongolia of such important goods as honey, dried fruits, fresh apples, strawberries, confectionery, chocolate, wafers, and cookies,” he noted.

Currently, a draft law "On the Ratification of the Temporary Trade Agreement between the Eurasian Economic Union and its member states, on the one hand, and Mongolia, on the other hand," which was signed on June 27, 2025, in Minsk, Republic of Belarus (first reading), was under discussion.
