In 2026, the replacement of 8,772 outdated insulators in the Batken region is planned.

As part of the energy sector modernization program initiated by the Ministry of Energy, the branch of OJSC "NESC" — Batken Electric Networks Enterprise, will replace old insulators with new glass ones. The work will be carried out on high-voltage lines of 220/110/35 kV.

The replacement of insulators will be conducted in the following areas:

- Kyzyl-Kiy section — 4,200 insulators

- Suluktu section — 1,572 insulators

- Batken section — 3,000 insulators

Work is scheduled from March to November to prepare for the autumn-winter season of 2026–2027. It is expected that after the replacement is completed, the condition of the high-voltage lines will improve, ensuring consumers receive higher quality and more stable electricity supply.

It is important to note that in 2025, 7,200 outdated insulators were replaced, and 7,513 new glass insulators were installed.

_____________

An insulator is a device that holds conductors on the supports of power lines and prevents electrical current from leaking to the ground or between phases. It does not allow electricity to "short circuit" to the support and is usually made of glass, ceramics, or composite materials.

On high-voltage lines of 220/110/35 kV, as in Batken, insulators play a crucial role in ensuring safe operation and preventing short circuits and accidents.
