- A project has been launched in Kyrgyzstan to create a geographic information system for accounting and monitoring anthrax outbreaks — GIS "SUMO". This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry.

Veterinary Services, Livestock Development, Pastures, and Feed have been involved in the implementation of the project, aimed at improving epizootic surveillance and responding promptly to threats of the spread of dangerous animal diseases.

The State Institution "AgroSmart" under the Ministry of Agriculture is responsible for the development of this system.

GIS "SUMO" will be a modern web application that allows for the visualization, accounting, and analysis of information regarding the veterinary and sanitary status across the country, according to the statement.

The Ministry of Water Resources noted that the implementation of this system will enhance the transparency of veterinary processes, improve disease prevention measures, and strengthen biological safety in the country.
