As of today, the modernization project of the 'Junda' refinery in Kara-Balta has received investments amounting to 193.75 million US dollars. The work is expected to be completed by July 31, 2026.
Representatives from the National Investment Agency, the Ministry of Economy and Commerce, the Kara-Balta City Hall, and the Akbashat District Administration conducted an inspection of the plant to assess the progress of the capital repairs and modernization.
The visit was organized at the invitation of the LLC "China Petrol Company 'Junda'" and their investor, the Chinese Shaanxi Coal and Chemical Corporation. The delegation familiarized themselves with the current stages of construction and installation work and the condition of the production facilities.
The modernization is being carried out under an Investment Agreement signed between the National Investment Agency and the LLC "Central Asian Energy Company," with an additional agreement that increases the volume of investments.
The plant is capable of processing 800,000 tons of oil per year. The main goal of the modernization is to increase the depth of oil processing, create new jobs, and enhance the country's energy security.
