A tour of the eco-technological plant that converts solid household waste into electricity took place on February 27 at the sanitary landfill site in Bishkek. The event was organized for the authorized representatives of the president, akims, and mayors of cities, as reported by the city hall.
The deputy mayor, Ramiz Aliyev, conducted the tour, presenting participants with innovative waste processing methods and electricity generation.
During the visit, the delegation familiarized themselves with the plant's operational processes, including the technological cycle of waste processing and measures to ensure environmental safety. Participants were provided with detailed information about the plant's design capacity, as well as the waste disposal system and the volume of electricity generated.
The city hall reminded that Bishkek has long faced serious environmental problems: up to 1,500 tons of waste were taken to the landfill daily, and there was no comprehensive solution to this issue. The opening of the first eco-technological plant in Central Asia has become a significant step towards improving the waste and ecological situation in Bishkek.
The total investment in this project reached 95 million US dollars. It is expected to process up to 365,000 tons of waste per year and launch a condensing turbine generator power plant with a capacity of 30 MW.
Currently, the plant is capable of processing up to 1,000 tons of waste per day, with the potential for further capacity increase.
