- As reported by the akim of the First May District, Ulan Sarylbek uulu, on the radio, the waste processing and incineration plant in Bishkek processes about 1,000 tons of waste daily, generating approximately 23 MW of electricity.

He noted that preliminary sorting of waste is not required for the operation of the plant: waste from the municipal service is directly loaded into the boiler, while large items, such as mattresses and gas cylinders, are sorted separately. At a separate sorting facility, valuable fractions—plastic, metal, and other recyclable materials—are extracted from 100 tons of waste.

“After incineration, about 200 tons of slag remains, which is processed at a separate plant costing $10 million. Metals are extracted, and the remaining slag is used for the production of building materials,” added the district akim.

In addition, a sorting plant has been put into operation, which receives about 100 tons of waste from Bishkek daily. The construction of this plant cost 100 million soms.

Ulan Sarylbek uulu also emphasized that around 100 jobs have been created at the enterprise, half of which are occupied by citizens of Kyrgyzstan. The company's plans include increasing capacity to 3,000 tons of waste per day.
