Decrease in coal production volumes in 2025
At the beginning of 2025, the state enterprise "Kyrgyzkomur" produced 1.35 million tons of coal, which is 0.25 million tons or 15.6% less compared to the same period last year.
During the specified period, coal exports amounted to about 0.4 million tons, which is approximately 30% of the total production volume.
The main export directions remain neighboring countries. At the same time, there is an increase in coal supplies to Uzbekistan, unlike the decrease in export volumes to China.
It was also previously reported that temporary measures to restrict coal exports have been extended to ensure the domestic market is supplied with fuel.
