Waste processing plant in Bishkek generates 30 MW of electricity per day, - Ministry of Energy

- The eco-technological plant located in Bishkek, which processes solid household waste, generates 30 megawatts of electricity daily. This was announced by Emilbek Ismanov, the First Deputy Minister of Energy, on January 16 during a meeting of the parliamentary groups "Mekentchil" and "Ata Jurt" in the Jogorku Kenesh.

As Ismanov noted, from the total production volume:

- 25 MW is allocated to the Ministry of Energy;

- 5 MW is used for the needs of the plant itself.

In addition, the electricity produced at the plant powers six nearby villages.

According to Ismanov, the power supply is uninterrupted throughout the day and night.

The plant that generates electricity from waste was opened in the north of Bishkek with the participation of President Sadyr Japarov.

The project is being implemented under an agreement signed by Bishkek Mayor Aibek Junushaliev and the company Junxin in November 2023. The total investment in the project amounts to $95 million.
