In Kazakhstan, 503 megawatts of installed capacity for renewable energy sources will be introduced in 2025

- In 2025, Kazakhstan will implement 503 megawatts of installed capacity in the renewable energy sector. This was announced in a statement by the Ministry of Energy, published on January 6.

As part of this project, nine new renewable energy facilities will be built, including: five wind power plants with a total capacity of 387 MW, three solar power plants with 90 MW, and one hydroelectric power station with a capacity of 26 MW.

Currently, there are 162 renewable energy facilities operating in Kazakhstan, with a total installed capacity of 3.5 gigawatts. These include 67 wind, 49 solar, and 43 hydroelectric power stations, as well as 3 biogas power plants.

By 2035, the country plans to develop more than 8 GW of capacity in the field of renewable energy.
