A field meeting was held in the Jalal-Abad region, where issues related to the OJSC "Mailuu-Suu Lamp Factory" were discussed under the leadership of Deputy Prime Minister Bakyt Torobaev. This meeting was organized at the instruction of the President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov and gathered representatives of key government structures, as well as the management and employees of the factory.
Various aspects concerning the operation of the factory were discussed at the meeting, including production volumes, social issues, and employee salaries. Participants expressed serious concerns regarding the reduction in production volumes, delays in salary payments, and potential layoffs.
The Government of the Kyrgyz Republic has developed a draft decree aimed at settling the salary arrears for the factory employees for the past three months. Additionally, work is underway to attract investments to the enterprise. Until full restoration of production, factory employees will be sent on unpaid leave. Those who choose to resign voluntarily will be provided with compensation in accordance with the labor legislation of the country.
Bakyt Torobaev announced that a special working group will be established to analyze opportunities for production diversification and the opening of new directions. He also assured that the salary arrears will be fully settled by the end of January 2026.
Furthermore, the Accounts Chamber will conduct a comprehensive assessment of the financial and economic activities of the enterprise to improve management. The Deputy Prime Minister also indicated that the production of incandescent lamps, which the factory currently manufactures, will be discontinued due to a lack of demand for this product in the global market.
Currently, various types of glass containers are being produced at the Mailuu-Suu factory.
It is worth noting that the Mailuu-Suu Lamp Factory was established in 1964. Throughout its existence, it has repeatedly changed its organizational and legal form, transitioning from a state enterprise to a joint-stock company and a limited liability company.
