On December 30, Nurlan Ermatov, the First Deputy Plenipotentiary Representative of the President in the Jalal-Abad Region, held a meeting with the management and employees of the lamp factory in Mailuu-Suu. The agenda included discussions on the current state of the enterprise and its future prospects.
This meeting was organized at the direction of the Plenipotentiary Representative of the President in the Jalal-Abad Region, Tilek Tekebaev. During the conversation, issues regarding the operation of the factory, wage levels, and future production plans were discussed.
One of the participants in the meeting reported that the factory has been operating in an unstable mode for the past two years: employees work only three days a week. Workers were also informed that they should expect a potential investor by July; otherwise, they will be offered to resign and receive their settlement. At the same time, payments for wage arrears depend on the submission of resignation applications.

The issue of the Mailuu-Suu lamp factory was also raised at the last Kurultai. Sadyr Japarov, in response to a delegate's question, stated that the state had previously allocated 1 billion soms to the enterprise and expressed hope for its recovery and further development.
In addition, at the end of 2022, then-Prime Minister Akylbek Japarov held a meeting dedicated to the operation of the factory. Projects for the repair of the glass-melting furnace and expansion of production were discussed, as well as plans to provide the country with locally produced LED lamps and glass products. At that time, the factory was granted a budget loan of 1 billion soms.
The factory, founded in 1967, produced up to 1 billion electric lamps per year by 1974. With the collapse of the Soviet Union, its activities significantly decreased. In 2003, the factory was sold to Russian investors, and in 2009 it was declared bankrupt and subsequently came under the management of the State Property Management Fund.
