- An off-site meeting was held in the Jalal-Abad region dedicated to the issues of the Open Joint-Stock Company "Mailuu-Suu Lamp Factory," reports the press service of the Cabinet of Ministers.

The meeting was chaired by Bakyt Torobaev, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Minister of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry, at the request of President Sadyr Japarov.

Representatives of relevant government agencies, as well as the management and staff of the factory, attended the meeting. Issues discussed included the current state of the enterprise, production volumes, wage levels, and social aspects related to further measures for the preservation of the factory. Employees expressed their concerns about declining production volumes, delays in payments, and the threat of job losses.

The Cabinet of Ministers has prepared a draft order for the payment of wage arrears to the factory workers for the past three months. At the same time, efforts are being made to attract investors.

While awaiting the full restoration of production, factory employees are planned to be sent on unpaid leave. Those who choose to resign voluntarily will be provided with compensation in accordance with the labor legislation of the Kyrgyz Republic.

Torobaev stated that a special working group will be created to restore the factory's operations, which will analyze the possibilities for diversifying production and launching new directions. The Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet also noted that the wage arrears will be fully settled by the end of January 2026.

Additionally, the Accounts Chamber will conduct a comprehensive assessment of the financial, economic, and managerial activities of the enterprise to improve the management system.

It was also noted that the production of incandescent lamps will be discontinued, as this product is no longer in demand in the international market. Currently, the factory produces several types of glass containers (bottles, jars) and LED lamps.

The Mailuu-Suu Lamp Factory is located in the city of Mailuu-Suu, in the Jalal-Abad region. It was built and put into operation in 1964. Over its existence, its organizational and legal form has changed multiple times—from a state enterprise to a joint-stock company and a limited liability company.
