On January 16, deputies from the "Mekenchil" and "Ata Jurt" groups held an off-site meeting at the landfill in the capital of Kyrgyzstan, the city of Bishkek.

During the visit, they were shown the operation of the waste sorting line, as well as the functioning of a new ecological plant that processes solid household waste and generates electricity.

It was previously reported that 12 hectares of land were allocated for the implementation of the project, with a total investment of 95 million dollars. The construction of the plant took 1.5 years, and it will operate under a concession agreement for 35 years.

The project will allow for the processing of up to 365 thousand tons of waste per year and the generation of electricity with a capacity of 30 MW. This will result in savings of 80 thousand tons of coal and a reduction of carbon dioxide emissions by 100 thousand tons. In the first phase, it is planned to process 1,000 tons of waste per day, with the possibility of increasing productivity and creating additional jobs.
