Unpaid leave, production closure - what is happening at the factory in Mailuu-Suu

The Audit Chamber will begin an inspection of the enterprise

At a meeting with the employees and management of the factory, Deputy Prime Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic Bakyt Torobaev announced an upcoming audit of the lamp factory in Mailuu-Suu.

This meeting was held on the instruction of President Sadyr Japarov.

During the negotiations, the current problems of the enterprise, employee salary issues, and social aspects were discussed. Workers expressed their concerns about the future of the factory. Torobaev, in turn, noted that the government has developed a resolution to settle salary debts and is actively seeking investors.

It was also confirmed that a decision has been made to temporarily suspend the work of factory employees without pay. Employees who choose to resign will receive payments in accordance with the labor code of the Kyrgyz Republic.

According to the deputy prime minister, a working group has been formed to restore the factory's operations. An analysis is underway to diversify production and explore the possibility of opening new directions. Full salary payments to employees are planned by the end of January 2026. Additionally, the Audit Chamber will assess the financial, economic, and managerial activities of the factory. The production of incandescent lamps at this factory will be discontinued, as this product has lost its relevance in the global market.

It should be noted that the Mailuu-Suu lamp factory began its operations in 1964. Currently, the factory produces various types of glass packaging, including bottles, jars, and LED lamps.

Previously, information about the factory's closure and unpaid leave for employees was announced at a meeting with the deputy representative of the president in the Jalal-Abad region.
