A volleyball tournament dedicated to the memory of brothers Tynysh and Zhyrgal Boposhov took place in Kara-Kul on December 27.
Present at the opening ceremony were the Deputy Mayor Manas Abdykalykov, relatives of the Boposhovs, athletes, and residents of the city.
Eleven teams from Kara-Kul and the Toktogul Valley participated in the tournament, including:

- "Üch-Terek – 2",
- "Kyzyl-Tuu" (school team),
- "Kara-Kul",
- "Cascade of Toktogul HPPs",

- "VK Beknazar".
The total prize fund of the tournament amounts to 100,000 soms.
Speaking at the event, the younger brother of the Boposhovs — Zamanbek Boposhov, shared memories of his brothers. According to him, Tynysh and Zhyrgal worked in Kara-Kul for many years, engaged in energy and hydro construction.
He mentioned that the brothers had been passionate about volleyball from a young age. Tynysh Boposhov passed away at the age of 41, while Zhyrgal died at 47. The idea for the tournament came from their friends and was later supported by relatives and local authorities.
Despite the tournament not being held in one of the years, it was revived at the initiative of contemporaries and has been held for 28 years with the support of the city administration and relatives.
It is known that the Boposhov brothers graduated from the Frunze Polytechnic Institute. Tynysh taught construction disciplines at the city institute, also served as deputy director for capital construction at the "Dostuk" plant, headed a state farm, and taught in the village of Jazy-Kechuu.
Zhyrgal Boposhov continued to work at "Narynhydroenergo" holding positions as site manager and head of the concrete plant.
