- In 2026, the Millers Association plans to open 2-3 new milling plants. This was announced by the president of the association, Rustam Junushov, on the radio.
He noted that the enterprises are strengthening their capacities for storing grain and finished products, which is an important step in ensuring food security.
According to Junushov, each milling enterprise has its own grain storage facilities, which are gradually being expanded.
“Our milling plants have their own grain storage facilities. We are increasing their capacity: if they used to hold 1000 tons, we now plan to increase it to 5000 tons, and for some, up to 10,000 tons,” he added.
He also emphasized that minimum grain reserves are stipulated in agreements with the government.
“According to our agreement, small enterprises must store between 700 to 1000 tons of raw materials and finished products. For large ones, the minimum is 3000 tons. We have been adhering to these requirements for the fourth year now,” Junushov explained.
Compliance with these standards, he said, has helped avoid sharp price fluctuations and crises in recent years.
“You have probably noticed that in the last 3-4 years, we have not seen sharp price jumps. This is because all conditions are fixed, and we strictly adhere to the agreements,” he noted.
Junushov added that the government provides support to the industry through benefits and assistance, and in return expects the assurance of food security.
“The government provides us with benefits, and we, in turn, ensure food security. I can confidently say that we meet these requirements,” stated the president of the Millers Association.
Moreover, he noted that the industry has new opportunities for development and modernization.
“We continue to modernize existing plants and build new ones. In 2026, the launch of another 2-3 enterprises is planned. Overall, the situation in the industry remains stable,” Junushov concluded.
