In Kyrgyzstan, about 30 milling complexes are operating, and most of them are currently undergoing modernization. This was reported on the air by Rustam Junushov, president of the Association of Millers.

“If we look at the situation in percentages, only 10–20% of the mills remain unchanged. The rest are being modernized — machines and equipment are being updated,” Junushov noted.

He also reported that 7–8 enterprises have already completed the upgrade of their capacities and increased production volumes. In addition, new, more modern milling complexes are being built in the country.

“This indicates that millers have started to invest in their own development and implement modern technologies. The industry has become profitable and is ready to invest in production,” emphasized the head of the association.

According to him, before the pandemic, only 8–9 mills were operating steadily in the country, while today the capacity of the milling industry has increased by about three times.

“We have not only increased production volumes but are also continuing to modernize and improve our processes,” added Junushov.
