In 2026, the completion of the construction of 13 small hydroelectric power stations with a total capacity of 80.6 MW and solar power plants with a combined capacity of 850 MW is planned in Kyrgyzstan. This was announced on February 27 at a republican meeting in "Yntymak Ordo" by the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Minister of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry Erlis Akunbekov.

Akunbekov also reminded that in 2025, 8 small hydroelectric power stations were successfully commissioned, providing 44.6 MW, as well as a 100 MW solar power plant in the Kemin district. In total, the capacity of new facilities increased by 213.6 MW. In addition, the power transmission line of the CASA-1000 project, connecting Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan, was launched.

Work is also actively ongoing to commission the second unit of the Kambar-Ata HPP-2 with a capacity of 120 MW. In addition, investors have been identified and agreements signed for the following projects: the construction of the Kazarmin hydroelectric power station cascade with a total capacity of 912 MW and the implementation of the Suusamyr-Kokomerene cascade, which will have a capacity of 1,305 MW.

In Kara-Keche, the construction of a thermal power plant with a capacity of 1,200 MW is planned, as well as the implementation of projects for the construction of solar and wind power plants with a total capacity of over 5,450 MW.
