In Bishkek, despite a series of setbacks, the 75th anniversary of the trolleybus was celebrated
In Bishkek, a commemorative event was held to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the city trolleybus, although its preparation faced numerous difficulties. This was reported to us by the organizers, who noted that the celebration was accompanied by refusals from venues and even a sudden power outage. Nevertheless, a round table dedicated to this topic was held in full.

Two days before the anniversary, Park Hotel confirmed its refusal, and less than a day before the event, B Hotel made a similar decision. A third venue also declined just a few hours before the start. During the event itself, an unexpected power outage occurred at the hotel. The organizers filed pre-trial claims against both hotels and stated their intention to seek compensation.

Despite all the difficulties, a discussion on the topic "75 Years of Electric Transport History in Kyrgyzstan: Prospects and Solutions" took place. A recording of the round table is available on YouTube.

Participants in the discussion included:

Anastasia Bogatyreva, representative of the UN Human Rights Office, Yegor Muleev, researcher at the Leibniz Institute for Regional Geography (online), Professor Ángel Aparicio, UNDP KR expert on the electric mobility project (online), Ajar Baisalova, representative of the Asian Development Bank, economist Marat Musuraliev, who prepared a report on electric buses, Murat Karypov, executive director of "Bir Duyno Kyrgyzstan".

The organizers emphasized the importance of discussing sustainable transport in a city where air pollution levels have reached critical values. They expressed gratitude to all participants and guests, as well as to the staff of the trolleybus management for their many years of work and contribution to the development of transport infrastructure.

The anniversary served as a reminder of how the trolleybus appeared in Bishkek as a gift for the establishment of the Kara-Kyrgyz Autonomous Region and has remained an important part of the transport system for decades. Experts noted that the future of environmentally friendly transport is only possible through the interaction of trolleybuses, electric buses, and trams.
