Since the beginning of the winter season, there has been a sharp increase in the number of cases with serious injuries in Naryn.

This data was provided by orthopedic traumatologist Aibek Manapbaev from the Naryn Regional Combined Hospital.

According to him, up to 35 patients visit doctors daily, of which 10-15 sustain injuries while skating on ice.

The proportion of injured children is particularly high, as school holidays are currently underway, and they are the ones who, while riding on inflatable tubes, most often sustain the following injuries:

“The number of serious injuries has significantly increased. People are becoming careless, ignoring safety rules. They often skate in groups, collide with each other, and do not maintain distance,” noted Manapbaev.

He emphasized that the organizers of ice rinks must strictly adhere to safety requirements:

“The installation of ramps can be dangerous. Safety must come first. We urge entrepreneurs to comply with these requirements as their primary responsibility. Parents should also monitor where and how their children play.”

Razalita Umarbekovna, press secretary of the Naryn Regional Emergency Situations Department, reported that there are four ice rinks in the region, and explanatory talks are being held with their owners.

“In Naryn, there is one ice rink that operates at the city level. Another rink has been opened in the Ak-Tal district. In the At-Bashinsky and Jumgal districts, there are temporary rinks with natural ice during the winter period, but they are not registered as official sports facilities, so they are not included in the total number,” she added.

Requirements for organizing ice rinks:

1. Shape

The rink must be flat and rectangular.

Long tracks, slopes, ascents, and descents are prohibited.

If the shape does not meet the requirements, the rink cannot be used.

2. Size

Minimum dimensions: at least 20 × 10 meters.

Sports rink (for skating, hockey, etc.): 60 × 30 meters.

The size can be smaller, but it must correspond to the concept of a “rink.”

3. Ice layer

Minimum thickness: at least 5 cm.

The ice must be uniform and free of cracks.

Ice mixed with snow is not allowed.

4. Evenness

The surface must be absolutely level.

If there are pits, bumps, ascents, or descents, the rink does not meet the requirements.

5. Boundaries

The edges of the rink must be clearly marked.

Fencing must be in the form of a fence, curb, or snow bank.

The possibility of “going out in any direction” is prohibited.

6. Safety

There should be no trees, metal structures, or other obstacles near the rink.

A safe zone for children must be provided.
