According to parents, children in the infectious disease hospital in Osh are forced to stay in a cold corridor, as reported by Turmush correspondents.

One mother said: “Many children are sick, and we ran out of space in the wards, so we stayed in the corridor. It is very cold here at night, and we are freezing. A sick child may not recover, but rather get sick again.”

Kursanali Tashov, the head of the Osh City Infectious Disease Hospital, noted that there has been a sharp increase in the number of patients recently.

“Our hospital must primarily serve the residents of the city. But we also accept severe patients from the districts. The children's department has 180 beds, and currently, more than 50 children are hospitalized. We have added additional beds. The corridors are warm, and the heating is functioning normally. If there is a shortage of beds in the wards, we temporarily place children in the corridors and transfer them back to the wards as soon as possible. At night, newly admitted patients are placed in the corridor, and during the day, they are transferred to the wards,” Tashov explained.

At the moment, there are many patients in serious condition in the hospital. Due to the lack of space in the children's department, planned hospitalizations in the adult department have been temporarily suspended. Today, 270 children approached us, all with respiratory diseases. There are 4 to 6 children in one ward,” he added.
