- At the plenary session of the Jogorku Kenesh on February 4, 2026, Deputy Janar Akayev inquired whether there has indeed been an increase in interest from foreign investors in the construction of solar and wind power plants in the country.

Deputy Minister of Energy Altynbek Rysbekov confirmed that this interest is indeed being observed.

Akayev noted that the Batken region is the sunniest area in Kyrgyzstan and suggested focusing efforts on attracting investments to this region.

According to him, there are about 10,000 hectares of land in the Batken region that can be used for the construction of solar power plants, which, in turn, will contribute to the development of the region.

On that day, the draft Law "On Amendments to the Law of the Kyrgyz Republic on Renewable Energy Sources," which was prepared for the second reading, was also discussed.
