According to the agreement between the governments of Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan, the Kazakh side acquires ownership rights to four key facilities: the "Kazakhstan" sanatorium, the "Samal" rest house, the "University" sports and health camp, and the "Olympus" sports and health center. Deputy Nuria Niyazova reported that Kazakhstan will be able to attract investors for the development of these facilities and even carry out their demolition.
According to Niyazova, the Administration of the President of Kazakhstan is currently implementing a project to build a new "Kazakhstan" sanatorium on the shores of Lake Issyk-Kul, with a planned completion date in the fourth quarter of 2026. All existing buildings on the sanatorium's territory, except for the dacha No. 1 of Dinmukhamed Akhmedovich Kunayev, will be demolished to preserve the historical and cultural heritage and create a house-museum.
Also, under the second document — the agreement dated December 1, 2009, which regulates the lease of land plots in the Issyk-Kul region, Kazakhstan acquires the right to lease a total land area of 58.8 hectares.
“According to the terms of the agreement, the land plots are leased for a period of 49 years,” Niyazova clarified. She added that the Kyrgyz side guarantees the protection of the leased facilities and commits not to take actions aimed at returning them to state ownership.
