In Kyrgyzstan, monitoring of socio-economic progress in the regions is conducted based on 114 indicators, which takes place every three months. This was reported by Nuriya Momunkulova, head of the planning, analysis, and evaluation department for regional development at the Ministry of Economy and Commerce, on the radio.

Momunkulova emphasized that the analysis covers a wide range of economic and social indicators, and also includes information on business development, budget status, and infrastructure.

She also noted that some regions require faster development. These include the Batken region, located in a border zone with a limited industrial base, the Naryn region with its unfavorable climatic conditions, and the Talas region, which is experiencing a lack of investment.

According to Momunkulova, 500 million soms are allocated annually to support the Batken region. In 2025, the implementation of 12 projects is planned using these funds: 7 of them have already been completed, and 5 are in the final stage.

For 2026, the execution of another 10 projects is planned. Among the most significant initiatives are the creation of a unified public service center in the city of Kadamjai, the opening of a logistics center in the Batken district, the construction of a water supply system in Batken, the establishment of a municipal market in the Leilek district, and the completion of a wholesale and retail complex in the city of Batken.
