At the meeting of the permanent commission on economics, budget, finance, and investments, Bermet Sydykova, the director of the Department of Urban Services, reported on the creation of a new ecology department within the structure of the department, which has been additionally staffed with four new employees. This department began its work in September of last year and is actively collaborating with the Department of Transport on ecological issues.
Sydykova also noted that a "Green City" concept has been developed aimed at improving the ecological situation. Events such as "Green Week," community clean-ups, ecological lectures, seminars, and festivals are planned for 2026.
When the deputy inquired about the specific actions of the Department of Transport, its head reported that work was carried out last year to install catalysts. As part of a pilot project, in collaboration with the Ministry of Natural Resources, catalysts were installed on ten vehicles. As a result of this project, it is planned to increase the number of cars equipped with catalysts.
