Storm Warning: February 18-22, Avalanche Risk Expected in Mountain Areas

From February 18 to 22, there is a forecast of the threat of snow avalanches in the mountainous regions of Kyrgyzstan, as well as the occurrence of snow drifts, accumulations, and ice due to rising air temperatures and an unstable avalanche situation.

According to Kyrgyzhydromet, avalanches may occur on the following sections of the roads:

- on the section of 121-138 km of the Bishkek—Osh road (Töö-Ashuu pass) and on 198-265 km (Ala-Bel pass, Chychkan gorge);

- on 45-112 km of the Ala-Buka—Kanysh-Kiya road (Chapchyma pass);

- on 0-3 km of the Krasnaya Gorka—Ak-Tash road;

- on 55-115 km of the Myrza-Ake—Kara-Kulja—Alaikuu road;

- on 97-98 km of the Sary-Tash—Daroot-Korgon—Karamyk road;

- on 292-305 km of the Bishkek—Naryn—Torugart road (Dolon pass);

- on 1-14 km of the Aral—Min-Kush road;

- on 8-21 km of the Aral—Suusamyr road;

- on sections 201-205, 260-290, and 326-249 km of the Balakchy—Kazarmin—Jalal-Abad road (Kok-Art pass);

- on 45-90 km of the Karakol—Enilchek road (Chong-Ashuu pass).

When traveling through potentially dangerous areas, it is essential to maintain a strict distance of 500 meters between vehicles.
